A NEW Book and a NEW TV Show!
Friends, this post is a little informal and newsy. I have some good news to share and some personal stuff that I hope to never experience again.....
When I first started blogging, I tried to write two or three blog posts a month. When I started writing books, something had to give because honestly, no one can do it all. My family needs me, of course, more than anything and writing books is intense. Naturally, the blogging fell a bit by the wayside. And I miss it. I’m looking forward to having more regular posts again soon. In fact, after writing three full length books and three Study Buddy Bible Study Guides over the last two years (more Study Buddy Guides coming in the future), I really thought God would have me take a little break. But…..not so much….
Quade and I at Disneyland! His favorite treat is a churro and he loves the Little mermaid ride and it's a small world. he also melts hearts wherever he goes and his church nursery volunteers say he always shares and hugs and is a natural leader! Love him!
It turns out that God made me restless to write another book. This time, my husband Guy is joining me as my co-author! I’m super excited about writing with him because as with all my books, I write for myself and then trust that you may be a lot like me and can somehow be encouraged and blessed as you read what I need in my own life. This next book is meant to transform me and my husband and I hope that it may do the same for you when it becomes available. That said, we haven’t even shown it to publishers yet. We are in the VERY early stages of writing and research and it’s taking longer than we wanted because……
We sold a TV show! Guy and I have a super amazing faith and family TV show we have been developing for quite a while now and we are in the process of working out details to produce it for an amazing network. It's still hard to believe because we have sacrificed so so so much for this show and for our production company. We sense God’s favor and that He is making a way for us but these wheels turn slowly. Still, it's getting more real every day as we go over episodes, consider casting options, and scout for locations for filming.

All of this to say, first and foremost, Guy and I NEED YOUR PRAYERS in a big way. Please pray as we write this book that is so near and dear to our hearts. Please pray as we do all the millions of things that need to take shape to make an excellent family show you can watch with your kids and that it will inspire and encourage viewers. It would make your head explode if I shared all the not so glamorous details so I'll just leave it at that.
Meanwhile, we have four darling boys who we desire to raise well, trusting God to give us wisdom to meet their individual needs. This is a new season for our family and it’s going to bring with it a lot of changes. We may move, travel a bit more for work stuff, and I’m even considering things like home school. What I know will happen is that there will be spiritual battles we face. This past year has been one of the worst of my life. We have been persecuted in ways I didn’t think possible. There is evil in this world and while I knew that, I was confronted with it head on this year. I have not shared about what happened publicly, and really only with a handful of trusted friends, but the warfare has been absolutely unimaginably hard. The good news is that it made our family stronger than ever. God showed up for us to fight our battles but they haven't ended yet. We had our lowest lows but they are giving way to some of our highest highs. Someday, I’ll open up, but now is not the time. I can’t imagine not having you all praying for us in that regard. I’m pretty much begging your prayers!
The blogging will be a little sporadic again for a while. My apologies. You can catch me monthly over at The Better Mom where I am writing consistently and as I’m able to share more about the book and behind the scenes scoop on the TV show, I’ll be sharing all that right here! I’m encouraged deeply by all of you and so thankful for you! Thanks for hanging in there with me. I’ll close with a verse that my family is focusing on for the next month. We memorize it as a family and talk about it in organic ways as we do life together. I hope it blesses you!
